December Newsletter

December 23rd, 2009

Hello VCYRs!

As the year comes to an end, VCYRs can look back and be proud of their accomplishments during the last 12 months.

At the beginning of the year, we started with a small group of dedicated individuals that eventually grew to be one of the most successful chapters in the Young Republican Federated of California organization. We actively recruited new members, hosted the the statewide convention in the summer (where our organization was selected as the 2009 Club of the Year), had a great time at CRP, and volunteered to help Republican candidates into elected office. One of our own became the youngest Central Committee member in the state, and we are honored to have not one, not two, but three state legislators as regular members of our chapter.

Looking ahead to 2010, expect the VCYR to be active in the all-important upcoming elections, and we’ve planned mixers and events that are sure to bring in even more members to our growing club.

On a final note, I’d like to extend my sincere thanks for reelecting me as the chairman of the VCYR. It’s been my honor to serve you in this capacity this year and I’m excited to continue what we’ve started into 2010. Have a safe and happy holiday.

Sincerely,

Matt Hewitt
Chairman, Ventura County Young Republicans

VCYR prepares for busy 2010

The Ventura County Young Republican leadership made big plans for the upcoming election year.

In the first half of 2010, mixers will be held in both east and west ends of the county to geographically accommodate existing and potential new members.

In the second half of the year, we’ll continue to have mixers at various hotspots around the county, including a Casino Night in July. After a college membership drive, the VCYRs will again Get Out the Vote ahead of the November general election where we’ll do our part in local Republican victories.

In preparation for all the upcoming activities, we’ve rolled out a new website design and Facebook fan page. Visit them often for the latest news and information, such as details for our next mixer.

But before the 2010 activities commence, we first want to wish you a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
